Today I went to see Persepolis, the animated movie version of Marjane Satrapi’s tale of her childhood in Iran during the revolution and the Iraq-Iran war, her late teenage years spent in Vienna and her return to and subsequent leaving of Iran. I loved the books and the movie version is just as good. It’s both horrible sad and really, really funny.
